After a 20 year career working with the United Nations, across Africa and the Middle East, John shifted focus back to his childhood passions of wildlife and photography.
John has travelled across all the continents in search of wildlife, including Antarctica, the Arctic and on the summit of Everest.
John is a cinematographer. He has worked as a wildlife cameraman on natural history productions including Planet Earth III and Our Planet, filming on every continent in search of the shot.
He has spent more than ten years living and working in East Africa, and has an intimate knowledge of the wildlife of the Maasai Mara in Kenya. There, he built Mlima Mara — his own photographic camp — as a base for filming and for the safaris he guides in the Mara and worldwide.
John hosts and guides photographic safaris in the Maasai Mara and beyond. He uses Mlima Mara Camp in the Maasai Mara, Kenya as a base for filming and photography.
